Early Career Development Awards Program

The Early Career Development Award is a program sponsored by Johnson & Johnson to support early career dermatology NPs and PAs in advancing their professional knowledge and/or preparing for specialty certification.

PROGRAM GOALS:

  1. Enhance knowledge of evidence-based dermatology practice for clinical decision making.
  2. Assist early career NPs and PAs in clinical application of pharmacotherapies.
  3. Develop mentorship relationships for ongoing clinical and professional support.
  4. Engage in exclusive networking opportunities with colleagues, mentors, and industry for
    professional development.

AWARD RECIPIENTS WILL RECEIVE:

Paid conference registration

CDNPPA Dermatology Essentials for NPs and PAs 3-day conference March 12-14, 2026, in
Irving, Texas with access to all conference sessions, conference provided meals, and
networking events.

Invitation to an exclusive conference meeting

A unique, professional development experience on Thursday, March 12, 2026, where you’ll
engage with distinguished lecturers sponsored by Johnson & Johnson.

Hotel accommodations and travel stipend

Four (4) nights at The Westin Irving at Las Colinas and a $400 travel stipend.

Continuing education credits

PAs: up to 16 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. NPs: up to 16 contact hours, which includes up to
6 pharmacotherapeutic hours.

Recognition as a 2026 Johnson & Johnson Scholarship recipient

At the CDNPPA conference, as well as on the CDNPPA website and social media platforms.

Exclusive opportunity for professional mentorship

Invitation for follow-up mentorship opportunities through a live, virtual meeting in 2026. Engage
with dermatology NP/PA mentors to discuss their professional practice and development.
We will explore barriers to practice, pharmacotherapeutics, and education/training goals,
including preparation for the DCNP and CAQ-Derm certification exams.

Award Eligibility and Requirements

  1. Currently practicing as a dermatology NP or PA with less than 5 years’ experience.
  2. Attend all CDNPPA Dermatology Essentials for NPs & PAs conference sessions in Irving, Tx March 12-14, 2026, and the CDNPPA networking and award recognition event on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
  3. Complete the award program evaluation and survey.
  4. Must not have participated in a Johnson & Johnson scholarship award program within the last 12 months through CDNPPA or any other organization.
