There are important documents and resources that guide the standards for dermatology NP and PA clinical practice. Dermatology certification exams have been developed for each profession and outline the core knowledge and skills that any NPs or PAs should master for competency. Regardless of whether a dermatology NP or PA achieves certification (or not), these specialty competencies are the standard by which the clinician will be held accountable.
